Hands off the pigs: Our planning objection to a pig farm in East Riding

Last year, we objected to a planning application to build a facility in East Riding, for farming pigs on an industrial scale. By industrial, we mean 6000 pigs, to be kept in the proposed facility with less than 1 square metre of space allotted per pig. Not only is this kind of large-scale pig farming awful and cruel for the poor animals, it also has huge environmental ramifications. We raised these issues with East Riding's Planning Committee. To say that they couldn't care less is a giant understatement (we wrote a blog about it). Objection below.
